A chainsaw massacre of mature fruit-bearing apple trees is exactly what you didn’t have planned for a Friday night. But, at the Performa 09 Biennial’s opening dinner-cum-food-art-installation, dreamed up by artist Jennifer Rubell and given the ironic moniker of CREATION, patrons are expected to partake in the dissemination of chopped down trees and chomp down on their fateful final produce.
