Multimedia artist Hunter Jonakin has designed a new video game in which the central player wanders a museum with a bazooka, blowing up the astronomically valuable, giant-sized balloon sculptures that populate a Jeff Koons retrospective. Including CG renderings of some of Koons’s most recognizable works, the game is an upfront comment on the aggression and impotence many art viewers feel in the face of the money-driven art establishment. You can experience the catastrophic action in the demonstration video below. Players initiate the game with a 25ยข deposit in a stand-up ’80s arcade module. The game is currently not on display anywhere, but we’re imagining it will get picked up for installation very soon.

This definitely resolves the age old debate of whether video games can be considered art. Brilliant!
