Craving some good listening? The Americans, a talented young eight-piece, will be performing at Webster Hall, August 18. The band, fronted by Charlie Klarsfeld (guitar, lyrics, vocals) and Julia Tepper (vocals), flaunts a sophisticated yet easy-listening sound drawn from a pastiche of pop influences – R&B, Garage Rock, Doo-Wop, and Blues. Discovered by Mark Ronson, The Americans have already collaborated with the likes of Sean Lennon and producer Jeff Peretz whose arrangement of the horn section gives the music its soulful feel. Klarsfeld writes deeply personal yet palatable songs featuring lovers’ dialogues beautifully delivered with the help of Tepper’s smoky vocals.
