The clothes perfectly matched the soundtrack of old school hip-hop segueing to breakbeat electro. Marc Jacobs took a simultaneous retro and forward-thinking approach. The bright bursts of colors were a welcome respite to other dreary black and beige Spring/ Summer collections. The multi-cultural early-90s jungle and hip-hop vibe purveyed. Stand-outs included the updated Cosby Show sweater more suited to Theo rocking it for a party then Dr. Huxtable wearing to the office.

I’m sorry…..i have to say i really don’t see the Hip Hop inspiration in Marc Jacob’s Spring 2010 collection. If you were to tell me downtown NYC, trending, hipster…. then YES. I can totally understand if the color patterns (bright color contrast), the rugged hair appeal or even the sunglasses, give the vibe of Hip Hop. I know what type of viewers gaze these photos and what their perception of Hip Hop culture is,,,,, There alittle off if you ask me…. Anyways, all in all, Marc Jacobs’ Spring 2010 collection is typical Marc Jacobs. Typical trendy, lower Manhattan, skinny wearing appeal.
