It’s Wednesday, which means we slip into an existential crisis about the fact that we can’t seem to remember having gone through Monday and Tuesday. Does it mean we’re just that intensely focused? Sure, why not. That’s a better mentality than: we’re workaholic badass zombies for whom time doesn’t quite exist. Or something. Regardless, on Wednesdays we need a playlist addition to wake us up into a notion of space and/or seconds.
This week, to celebrate Starfucker, a Reznor-esque-in-name-only quartet of Oregonians who just signed to Polyvinyl, we’ve put on brutal repeat their single, “Julius.” The song feels like today: a slow slip out of summer into the glittering dark fall ahead. Enjoy.
