
They should have lowered 81-year-old Maurice Sendak from the ceiling suited up in Opening Ceremony’s Where The Wild Things Are collection. But, in a world where safety concerns usually impede creative ingenuity, it’s the simple and refined that win out. That aside, Animazing Gallery’s exhibition of the legendary illustrator and author’s works, which opened last night and continues through November 8, 2009, presents the collectively nostalgic images of our childhood in an intimate setting conducive to lots of nose-smudges, spontaneous smiling, and permeating body warmth.
