Last night LVMH hosted a blow-out celebration at the Museum of Natural History to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the first lunar landing. And no lunar landing party would be complete without real-life moonwalkers — astronauts Buzz Aldrin (Apollo 11, first steps on the moon in 1969) and Jim Lovell (commander of Apollo 13, not the Tom Hanks movie). Aldrin and Lovell star alongside first woman in space Sally Ride in the new Vuitton ad campaign. “Vuitton has always been about travel,” said Daniel Lalonde, President and CEO of Louis Vuitton North America. Hm, I wonder if the monogram canvas keepall fits in the overhead compartment on a spaceship?
