NEW MENSWEAR: TIM COPPENS F/W 2011

| March 31, 2011

Belgium-born designer Tim Coppens may be a new name on the menswear radar thanks to his fantastic debut collection for Fall/Winter 2011, but he is certainly not new to design. After graduating from the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp, Coppens went on to design for Bogner in Munich before joining Adidas as senior designer in 2004. In 2007, he moved to New York, where Ralph Lauren recruited him as Design Director for RLX. In his debut collection, Coppens clearly lifts inspirations from his past endeavors, fusing a sporty functionality with clean, elegant design for a fit and a look that is totally unique. In a sign of good things to come, Barneys snatched up the entire range and plans to sell it exclusively. The VMAN editors are already enamored with the new brand, and we can only wait with baited breath to see how the Coppens man evolves. timcoppens.com
