While Tim Hamilton’s main line now shows in Paris, the designer is kind enough to open up his closet— otherwise known as Redux—for the New York scene. Originally launched as a greatest hits collection, the line is now a slightly younger, slightly cheaper alternative to the main line that pays homage to the designer’s past seasons. At times it was difficult to tell the models and the attendees apart, as both were drinking, mingling, and generally acting like they didn’t want to be there. Perfect. Maybe it was because those aforementioned attendees were wearing past seasons of Tim Hamilton that Redux didn’t differentiate itself. But that’s just the point: semi-affordable pieces that ranged from the basic – polos, cardigans, drapey hoodies – to the more ambitious, e.g. a shawl collar tux jacket. Nouveau vintage shopping for those weary of bed bugs and Paypal.
