As far as men’s tailoring goes, most of the rules and techniques were invented decades, even a century ago. That’s what makes them such powerful sources to draw inspiration from. It also makes inventing new ones that much more difficult. It may be an exaggeration to call the pins used to draw together the back of the suit jackets and coats in Rag and Bone’s Spring 2010 collection a new technique, but it definitely managed to make things feel simultaneously buttoned-up and relaxed, as did the pairing of strict-feeling military tops with more spacious pants.
