FALL 2011

| September 14, 2011

Telfar’s unisex creations have always been androgynously capable and fantastically versatile. His Spring 10 collection is no different, except that it somehow manages to be MORE flexible than ever before. One of the many tricks up his sleeve this season is the one-size-fits-all-but-doesn’t-have-to-look-frumpy-and-ugly card. His “sizeless” bottoms, for instance, are for waists sized 28-34. Telfar’s color choices are earthy and toned down, the hair and makeup natural, if slightly sunburnt– lips received a hint of white. It’s all very Shipwreck And Make Do, with buttonless dress shirts that fasten with strings, reminiscent of the earliest American settlers. The collection was made of mostly cotton, hand-dyed natural tones of greens, mustards and ocres. Following the Make Do theme, plastic grocery bags were used to create make-shift tank tops as well as to cover a few midriffs.
