Die-hard fans of menswear artisan Alexandre Plokhov felt—in typical gothic fashion—devastated when he shuttered his acclaimed Cloak menswear label in 2007, eventually taking the helm of the Versace menswear collection. Like many of his devoted consumers and Ebay fiends, we are ecstatic to welcome Plokhov back to the fold with his namesake Alexandre Plokhov line. Debuted to select press in Paris last week, the collection for Fall 2011 includes folded-over halter vests, asymmetrical parkas, and slim-fitted jackets layered with leather. The tailoring and materials are sure to be impeccable, and we’re certainly fascinated by the advocacy of pleats. It appears that the Cloak gentleman has evolved to inhabit a wardrobe of mature, slightly post-goth-industrial, executive immaculacy.
