Composer Nico Muhly is filing dispatches on America as he transports the contents of his late grandmother’s house from Tuscon, AZ, to the East Coast.

How come Shenandoah is so pretty?

I have so many questions about this truck. First of all, who was going to eat it? Were people pulling up next to the driver asking, “Hey, let me get a squirt of whatever it is you’re packing”? Do people do that to milk trucks? Is this labeled this way so that if the truck spills, people aren’t tempted to use the contents for frying? Has everybody seen www.truckspills.com?
