For VMAN 24 The Decades Issue, we journeyed back to the 1910s, to recall a time when classical music was the rage of the day. Naturally, our focus drifted to the young conductor Lee Mills, a wunderkind in his industry, leading the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra at merely 24 years of age.
