Entries for the 2011 VMAN Ford Model Search are pouring in by the hour, each hoping to come away with the coveted VMAN cover prize—photographed by Steven Klein and styled by Nicola Formichetti. The hundreds of guys (and, strangely enough, girls) filling up our database serve as a reminder of what is at stake: just look at our past winners and runners-up. Below, we’ve put together a rundown of previous winners, all of whom are successfully working in the fashion industry to this day.

Michael Wozniak by Terry Richardson

Our VMAN #4 winner from 2010 splits his time living between Tampa and New York. An avid golfer and a dedicated student, Michael is finding work in New York modeling for publications like VMAN, L’Officiel Hommes, Interview, and Hercules. He’s just returned from the shows in Paris and Milan where he walked for several designers.

Luke Briggs by Terry Richardson

2010 winner Luke is in school full-time in West Virginia, but is a favorite of Calvin Klein Collection: he booked the label direct for their show last season and is on his way back to New York this week to do the same.

Ford Smith by Terry Richardson

2010 finalist Ford Smith has moved to New York, and spends his time building his book and studying acting.

2010 finalist Nicholas Madrid lives between Las Vegas and Los Angeles, where he competes as a boxer! Ford Models tells us they are getting him here soon, so we see a bright future for Nicholas the fighter.

Matt Nicol by Nick Knight

Following the 2009 Model Search, in which Matt was a finalist, the burgeoning model moved back to Canada for personal reasons. Now back in New York, Matt has shot for VMAN and A Magazine and continues to build his book. Ford Models has big things planned for Matt in 2011 and they expect to see his star to continue its rise.

Jake Madden by Peter Lindbergh

Fall 2008 winner Jake Madden spent time in NYC after his cover came out, booking editorials and working with Calvin Klein. Jake moved to Los Angeles a year ago to pursue acting, though he continues to model as well.

CJ Hancock by Peter Lindbergh

Fall 2008 winner CJ Hancock recently moved to New York in order to attend university, as he had planned when he won the model search as a high school student. He direct booked the Calvin Klein show two times and recently walked for Louis Vuitton in Milan. Editorially, things are also looking good for CJ, who recently appeared in a spread for Harper’s Bazaar.

Aiden Andrews for Jil Sander

Aiden Andrews, a Fall 2008 finalist, is blowing up the modeling world and living in New York City. He is currently the face of Jil Sander and Raf Simons and walks most of the major shows in Milan and Paris. He has appeared in editorials for VMAN, Dazed & Confused, Another Man Magazine, W, Vogue Hommes Japan, POP, Arena Homme +, and many many more.

AJ Abualrub by Hedi Slimane

AJ Abualrub for Calvin Klein

A finalist in our first model search, AJ has been the face of Calvin Klein Collection, CK Jeans, American Eagle, Barney’s, Uniqlo, and has appeared in many more campaigns. AJ walks regularly for the biggest fashion names in menswear and has appeared in nearly every major fashion magazine multiple times. Working on a daily basis, he is undoubtedly one of the most successful male models working today.

Petey Wright by Hedi Slimane

Our first ever model search winner, Petey Wright, has been living between New York City and Nashville, making money and booking shows and editorials non-stop. An incredible musician, Petey has recorded his first few singles at home in Nashville but continues to book editorials for magazines like VMAN, BlackBook, MUSE, and GQ.
