The VMAN team hit Art Basel Miami Beach last week to see some art, mingle with some amazing creators and curators, and get out of this New York winter nightmare. So we figured, why not put together the best f’ing party in fucking town! Co-Editors Elliott David and Derek Blasberg threw a closing-night party at Coco De Ville with hosts Shamim Momin, Leigh Lezark & Geordon Nicol (who also played a delightful array of toe tapping tunes), Alexandra Richards, and Lady Monika Bacardi. After The Misshapes got everyone nice and sweaty, DJs Nick Cohen and Jaime Biden took control and really shattered revelers’ nervous systems with insane party/riot soundtracking. Taking a break from his regular music mastery, DJ Mike Nouveau put his steel will to better use at the door, making sure that our crowd was intensely controlled. Everyone who was anyone showed up to get down. And down we got. We nearly burned the damned Gansevoort Hotel to the ground.
