L.A. is steppin’ up their game with their first freestanding Y-3 store. Located on Melrose, Y-3 continue to show off their uber successful line of Adidas sportswear combined with Yohji Yamamoto’s distinct Parisian manner. Combining their sport-aesthetic base and translating it into future simplicity, it’s like a modernized version of the film Metropolis, with sound and pops of color. Also, the L.A. boutique follows in the interior footsteps of other Y-3 chains across Asia, Europe and the United States, so you know you’re getting sleek white finishes infused with retna-killing halogen lights (and some black hard-edges infused throughout). Opening tonight, you’ll be seeing bespoke tailoring done with futuristic materials. What that means, who knows? But, we can’t wait to see.
